JAMAL: he doesnt give up i'll give him that and he is an excellent puncher when he can get close to you but my speed and my jab will be the deciding factor i guarantee the fight wont last 12 rounds WEBL: any comments on the ring return of frank stonehouse? By Teddy Foster A spirited performance from former Polish Middleweight champion Darek Mili Zaloga couldnt stop Sugar Ray Hooper from taking the plaudits in one of the more brutal one-sided contests weve seen in recent times. Zaloga, who had built up a reputation of being one of the more durable fighters having thwarted the attempts of several big name heavyweights attempts to stop him, was in trouble from the opening bell. Hooper spent little time getting to his man backing him up against the ropes with a fierce body assault, the Warsaw man was clearly having difficulty dealing with Hoopers huge size and power advantage. Round 5 saw the first of 6 knockdowns as Hooper came out throwing monstrous punches, Zaloga somehow managed to pick himself up off the canvas 5 times before Hooper rendered him unconscious at 2 minutes 57 seconds in the 8th with a powerful straight right. Zaloga came around nearly 3 minutes after the bout had officially ended and will be spending the night in hospital for observation. With the victory Hooper rises to 17-4-0 and can boast having beaten every man he has ever faced, he had this to say after the fight It was an easy nights work all in all, I was determined to be the first man to stop him and do so convincingly, it was the only way I was going to impress anybody tonight, everybody knows I was clearly the better fighter going into the contest. On his future in the division Well see, theres a lot of good fights out there for me, with my recent victories Im certainly one of the guys to beat, well see how things pan out over the next few months and go from there, I dont really have anyone in particular in mind right now.

LipJR who hasnt been stopped since May 17th 2003 was made to suffer as soon as the first bell rung and was wincing in pain as bodyshots ripped home. By the end of the 3rd round it was clear that Reeves shots were taking LipJR apart as he collapsed onto his stool but bravely managed to survive for 3 more rounds before his corner wisely pulled him out to stop him sustaining a further beating. Reeves not only destroyed his opponent in a suprising manner, but also did not lose a single round during the process against a man who is notoriously tough. Reeves has announced he would like a re-atch with Akenbono next and is undecided on his plans after that

Jason, how has training gone in preparation for this fight? Training has been going great, ive been sparring with Lopez and Mugrat for this fight and am in the best shape of my life, whatever this slob wants to throw at me, hes getting it back times 10 Ok, Akebono is your next opponent, you've fought him once already, what do you know about him and what did you learn from the first fight? I learnd that this guy can punch, ive also matured a lot since that fight and am a completely different fighter, were going to see the REAL Jason Reeves on Sunday, no mercy for Akebono What can Akebono expect this time around? How will things be different this tme around? What can Akebono expect, let me tell you this, the man wont be able to competetively fight again if he comes at me in this fight, this time hes going on the backfoot and we'll see how he likes the pressure im going to put on him, no-one ever tested this guy seriously, im going to break him up and rip him apart, you wont see me running like in my last fight, ive learned to plant my feet more and am punching with much more power than last time, this time he will be stopped insid ethe distance if he choses to trade with me Do you have any firm predictions for the fight? Former title challenger and Engadinian Gym member Havago Yamug has announced his retirement from WeBL . Yamug stated at the post fight press conference of his bout with Cornell that he no longer had the desire or commitment to continue boxing. "I could have done alot better against Cornell , i could see alot of things i could have done but i just wasnt prepared enough, I would like to take this opportunity to annouce my retirement.I would like to thank everyone who was involved in my career " said Yamug Yamug smiled ,turned to Cornell and said "He never hurt me , it will be interesting to see what happens when he meets Engaman, I will be sure to tell Engaman what i know,Engaman was very dissapointed with his performance against Jamal and he is keen to make ammends,no matter what anyone says about him he is still a force.Stonehouse doesnt want to fight him but i dont blame him neither do i"

Using his superior speed Double M beat Lonnex Liwes to the punch during the fight. The 271lb Liwes tried to turn it into a wrestling match but Mennen stayed outside and used a stinging jab to keep the stronger Liwes at bay. Mennen was never in trouble and it was a good comeback fight for the Former North American Champion. Scores were 120-108 on all cards.
